Rushden and Wallington Parish Council is seeking to appoint a new clerk as our present clerk is retiring.
We are a small council representing the two villages and the clerk assists us in the management of services, organises meetings, prepares end of year accounts and liaises with County and District departments and councillors.
This is a paid appointment which is home based with very flexible hours of approximately 2 hours per week on average. A laptop and printer are provided and basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and email is essential. The position also requires good communication skills and an ability to manage very basic accounts. No parish council experience is necessary as a comprehensive handover will be given by the current clerk and ongoing professional support and training courses are available if required.
